RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system has recorded substantial improvements in public health outcomes, according to Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel.

Speaking at the third Saudi Model of Care Forum in Riyadh, AlJalajel emphasized the positive results of the Kingdom’s localized healthcare approach. He noted a 40 percent decline in deaths from chronic diseases and a 60 percent reduction in road traffic fatalities, reflecting the growing effectiveness of preventive and emergency care services.

The minister also highlighted a 50 percent drop in deaths caused by infectious diseases and a 30 percent reduction in fatalities linked to other injuries. As a result of these advancements, life expectancy in Saudi Arabia has increased to 79.7 years, marking a major milestone for the national health sector.

The two-day forum brought together healthcare leaders and service providers to showcase innovations within the Saudi healthcare model. Discussions focused on improving service quality, expanding access, and strengthening cooperation across the sector.

Scientific sessions during the forum examined recent research, disease prevention strategies, and public health initiatives, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s ambition to build a more efficient, sustainable, and globally competitive healthcare system.
