KUWAIT — Kuwait Television and Dubai TV have taken a significant step toward strengthening Gulf media collaboration after Dubai Media Incorporated and Kuwait’s Ministry of Information signed a memorandum of understanding for joint television production.

The agreement was signed on Sunday by Mohamed Al-Mulla, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Media Incorporated, and Dr Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of Kuwait’s Ministry of Information.

The signing ceremony took place during a UAE–Kuwaiti media reception organized by the Dubai Press Club, bringing together senior media executives, artists, journalists, and content creators from both countries.

Addressing attendees, Mona Ghanem Al-Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, congratulated Kuwait’s leadership and people on the occasion of the country’s National Day. She noted that, under the directive of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kuwait–UAE relations will be celebrated across the Emirates for an entire week.

Al-Marri emphasized that the event reflected the depth of the fraternal relationship between the two nations, describing Kuwait as “a close home, a shared memory, and a partner bound by enduring historical positions.” She also highlighted landmark moments in bilateral media cooperation, recalling that Dubai’s first television broadcast in 1969 was launched with Kuwaiti support — an early example of Gulf media integration.

She added that cooperation has continued through regional platforms such as the Arab Media Summit and the Arab Journalism Award, which has recognized prominent Kuwaiti journalists over the years.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Minister of Health and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi said the gathering underscored the strong brotherly ties between Kuwait and the UAE. He highlighted the vital role media plays in strengthening communication, reinforcing shared values, and building cultural bridges between societies.

“UAE–Kuwaiti media cooperation is grounded in a shared vision supported by the political leadership of both countries,” Al-Awadhi said, noting that this backing provides a solid foundation for advancing joint institutional media work.

He explained that the new agreement represents a practical step toward developing media production ecosystems, exchanging expertise, and empowering media professionals. The partnership is expected to deliver high-quality content that reflects the cultural identity of both nations, aligns with digital transformation trends, and enhances the regional and international presence of Gulf media.

The deal marks a new chapter in long-standing UAE–Kuwaiti media relations, reinforcing collaboration at a time when regional broadcasters are increasingly focused on innovation, co-production, and global outreach.
